1. What are some of the previous research projects you have done?
I've done projects on levers last year, and one on five jobs that I'd like to be.
2. Based on these projects, what does research mean to you?
Research means that you spend your free time to look up information. You must take time and fiind pieces of info in lots of places to verify them.
3. Describe one of your research successes or failures. Why was the experience positive or negative?
Last year I did a project on jobs I'd like to be and it went great. I looked up info on twenty-three websites and got an A.

3 - Why I Chose This Topic and What I Know About My Topic (due Tuesday, April 8)
1. Topic: Why the Roman Republic suddenly changed to an Empire.
2. Why you chose it: I like studying Rome and Greece and during this period, many events happened that are very intriguing. They happen so suddenly that it's just fun to learn.
3. What you already know about your topic: That it happened in 100 years and that it had many events lead up to it.

- Pre-Notetaking Activity - in class (due Wednesday, April 9)
1. Brainstorm a list of questions related to your topic.
Fat Question: What were the major events that led to Rome becoming an Empire?
Skinny Questions:Who were the main people that made or helped this change?
What were the economic changes during this time?
What changes happened during this time(Not politically, but Socialy)?
What was the main reason for this change to happen?
Did this major change strengthen, weaken, or do nothing to the overall power that Rome had?
Did this solely happen because of greed for power?

5 - Reflections on Pre-Notetaking - for homework (due Wednesday, April 9)
1. Describe how the pre-notetaking sheet helped you find both focus for your topic and research questions to investigate. Did you find it easy or difficult to create a fat question from your ideas?
It helped me because I had to go obtain information that was useful. I found it quite easy to make a fat question.
